LEWIS GINTER BOTANICAL GARDENS, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA
MAY 10 – 11
Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond, Virginia is one of the best botanical gardens in the country. And inside its spectacular Conservatory are the butterflies. While there are many other butterfly houses in various parts of the country, this one is unique because of its large indoor space and its profusion of butterflies. With wonderful huge windows, the quality of light is excellent all day long.
Plus, the Garden is one of the best in North America and was recently voted 4th “Best Botanical Garden” in the nation by USA Today.
In addition to the butterflies, there will be opportunities to explore the grounds and photograph the beautifully maintained outdoor gardens. So consider this a two-fer – photograph butterflies to your heart’s content AND learn new and creative techniques for macro photography of flowers. It will be an information-filled and fun-filled workshop!
ITINERARY: The workshop begins with a Bonus Teaching Session on the evening before the workshop begins. This is an in-depth presentation with detailed technical information, creative ideas for photographing butterflies as well as flowers, and much more. The next two days are filled with wonderful photographic opportunities, personalized instruction, image critiques, and a laugh or two.
